Super Happy Vlog House -- Wylie, TX !

Why?

  • To get together a collective group of vloggers who want to work on projects and learn new things
  • To create some great new videos
  • To converse, mingle, and have a great time

When?

  • First weekend of April, like March 30, 31, April 1. April Fool's Weekend!
  • Show up on Friday night if you like (3/30) and stay over... then from 9am Saturday to 9am Sunday, we vlog.

What will we do?

  • Create videos. I have been talking to Adam Ezra about coming down to Texas for a weekend, and I know at Vloggercon a lot of people expressed interest in learning to record live music and create music videos. This is a diversion, not a required project.
  • Work on projects. Perhaps you want to set up "WP Corner" to help people with their templates; perhaps you want to help create a neat new vlogging tool. Perhaps you want to edit those 200 hours of video you have. The choice is yours.
  • Teach each other something. In "barcamp" style, I will set up a room of the house as a classroom, and outside the room will be posted out a board to schedule an hour block of time. Teach us about RSS feeds, video formats, special effects, or just plain how to make a good videoblog, your choice.

How do I get there?

  • Shuttle runs to the airport. If you show up at DFW airport, I will make three shuttle runs (maybe more if you pay me! lol)... one Friday night, one Saturday morning, and one Sunday around noon time.
  • Drive. The new house is in Wylie, just north of Dallas, Texas. If you're driving, I'll send you directions.

How much will it cost?

  • The whole point behind the weekend is to have fun, not to worry about money. I would like to ask each participant to donate $20 to food, drink, my power bill, etc... ;) but we can work something out if you can't swing it. I will keep all receipts from expenses I incur (food/drink/etc), and all overage funds will be donated to Node 101.

What do I bring?

  • Power strip. Please label it with your name, and we'll be sure it makes it home with you.
  • Tent. If you plan on bringing a tent, please let me know, so I can keep track of yard space.
  • Sleeping bag. I know I'm an avid crocheter guys, but I only have so many blankets.
  • Pillow. Droolers. Nuff said.

Of course, you may not plan on sleeping at all, which is just fine--but if you're driving, I hope you'll entertain the idea of catching at least twenty winks.

  • And... above all...

Have a great time vlogging!
